"The only true creative aspect of writing is the first draft. That’s when it’s coming straight from your head and your heart, a direct tapping of the unconscious. The rest is donkey work. It is, however, donkey work that must be done. ~ Evan Hunter"

Food, more food… oh, and SMB, please?

I realise that in the busyness of life, I have totally neglected recounting my journey to my husband’s hometown Philippines. We are both lovers of food. Apart from beetroot and pumpkin (for myself), and pickles and olives (for my husband), we will scoff down almost everything presented in front of us. And having sampled some of the Filippino authentic foods such as chicken adobo, beef steak , halo-halo and leche flan (creme caramel), both my husband and I were beyond ecstatic in...

Almost 24 hours later…

And I am feeling marginally human again One of the things I *hate* about doctors (as competent as they are and as much as I respect their expertise) is the fact that they’re never on time. For the longest time, I resisted the concept of working on multiple storylines at once. Between a rather demanding full-time work, maintaining my relationship with my darling husband and some social life (including spending a considerable time with my husband’s family), working on more than one project is the surest, fastest way for me to go crazy and run for the hills. ‘But what about those stories forming inside your head, begging and competing to be told?’, I hear you ask....

And the Winner Is…

First of all, thank you so much to all who has submitted an entry (or entries) to my first-ever competition. I have enjoyed reading every single entry, and have even found some very interesting occupations out there I haven’t thought/heard of in a very long time. Without further ado, the winner is…. *drumroll*   PENNE CHANTEL – for the following entry. She was a  journalist/ photographer.  She is details oriented, highly analytical, excels in communication and...
