To say I’m excited about working part-time is an understatement. I am looking forward to having more time – both to myself and with my husband. I am looking forward not having to do so many additional hours outside work just to keep my head above water. I am looking forward to catching up with some friends and family members on my days off. I am even looking forward to getting some serious housework done during the week instead of piling all of them up on the weekend.

Most importantly though, I am so excited at the thought of nurturing my much-neglected child – my writing. Suffice to say that my writing for 2013 has been sporadic. Most of the time, my brain has been ‘fried’ during term time that any writing done during this time would be some kind of a miracle. And sometimes, it could take a full week of school holidays to ‘recover’ from the full-on term that I would only cram in my writing on the second week, before the cycle start again.

I know it might take me a little while to get into the part-time work/more time to do other things rhythm. I know there will be some ‘lazy’ days, where more time is a luxury I can finally afford and I will waste it doing other things than what I supposedly have to do. I won’t be too ambitious (at least until the rhythm is set) in setting my writing goals for this year, but suffice to say that there will be some writing goals for this year, and I can’t wait to get back to writing – it has been far too long.
